NESA has published clarified ACE Rules on the NSW Curriculum website. The clarified rules come into effect from 14 October 2024. Schools must not implement the clarified rules before this date. Schools must continue to use the ACE Rules on this website until 14 October 2024.

Schools are not required to submit a school-based assessment mark for students studying courses with an external provider.

The external providers submit the assessment mark. For the purpose of moderation, students are considered as being part of the course candidature with the external provider where the course is being studied.
